NFTC 2025: Semifinals
The 2025 National Flash Trial Competition started day three with the famed semi-final rounds. In this round, advocates argued whether Defendant Taylor White's play, User Agreement, defamed the CEO of Midnight Tech, Evangeline Smith, by basing the play's main character off of Smith and intentionally making false or misleading claims about her throughout the production. Was White exercising creative liberties, or did they mean to break the fourth wall--and Smith's reputation along with it?
While all four teams performed beautifully, only two can advance to the finals. Congratulations to the 2025 NFTC semi-finalists, Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law and UC Law San Francisco, and to the teams proceeding to the final, UCLA School of Law and the University of Maryland School of Law!
