NFTC 2025: Final Round!

At the 2025 NFTC final round, competitors put their stamina to the test by trying a civil case of gross negligence. While competing on a reality show called The Island, Christian Lake suffered an injury on their leg, which eventually became an infection that developed past the point of recovery, requiring amputation of Lake's leg to prevent further injury or death. Did the Reality Broadcasting Network's on-site medical doctor make the right choice to keep Lake on the island despite their injury, or should Lake have been removed from the competition for good? And did the Network's decision to provide limited amounts of rice a day to competitors have a grain of impact on the final outcome of Lake's predicament?

After three days and six rounds of incredible advocacy, the University of Maryland School of Law was crowned the winner of the 2025 National Flash Trial Competition! Congratulations to all teams and all competitors on an exhilarating weekend--thanks for following along, and we'll be back next year!
